Make Short Videos for Social Media to Get Better Engagement

Want more engagement from your videos on social media?

Creatorpreneurs, create a short video that’ll help you attract the right kind of attention, spread brand awareness, and improve your organic reach.

Why You Should Create Short Videos for Social Media

Short videos are popular because they work. According to research done by Hubspot, the recommended length for a video on various social media platforms are:

  • Instagram videos: 26 seconds
  • Twitter videos: 45 seconds
  • Facebook videos: 1 minute
  • YouTube videos: 2 minutes

While there are a number of reasons why short videos are popular, one of the most obvious ones is the fact that they give out helpful information in small “bites”.

They don’t take up much of your time and can deliver on their promise right away.

After all, successful social media content should be instantly gratifying or you’ll risk losing your audience.

Why Social Media Users Will Watch a Short Video:

  1. To consume content without wasting much time
  2. To keep track of the latest happenings around them
  3. To be informed on trending topics of their interest
  4. And to get entertained!

Make More Money: Find Out What Your Audience Wants

Finding out what your audience wants is easy. Just ask them!

How to Find Out What Your Audience Wants and Needs

First, do you have an email provider that makes it easy to automate a follow-up email sequence? We use Drip.com, so you can check them out if you’re not sure you have what you need.*

Set up your email campaign so that the minute someone subscribes to your newsletter, blog, or free offer, your email provider automatically delivers a thank-you note to their inbox.

In this thank-you note, ask your subscriber what type of content they want.

If you’re a fashion eCommerce store, you can ask something like:

‘What celebrity styles inspire you?”

If you’re an online coach, ask your audience what their number one struggle is.

Maybe you’re an internet marketer who sells online products…
ask them what your next product should be!

How to Make More Money With This Simple Tip

Knowing what your shoppers are interested in the most will help you provide more value (and give them exactly what they want!), thus increasing your sales.

AND… always provide a branded header on your thank-you email.

Watch the video to see how Laughingbird Software’s online Graphics Creator will help you get this done.

Create a custom header in The Graphics Creator and save it for future revisions (there’s never an additional charge for modifications)!

So, sit back and think of a question to ask your audience in the next ‘thank you’ letter you send to them.

Social Media Analytics: How to Use Them to Grow Your Business

Want to find out how your social media channels are doing?

Here’s a super-duper, FREE tool that’ll give you the information you need to grow your biz… with the help of other successful businesses. It’s been especially helpful for our YouTube channel! However, you can use it for other social channels as well.

It’s called Socialblade.com.

SocialBlade.com is a free-to-use website that displays your YouTube statistics – or the stats of any social channel you’re interested in – using a simple layout.

Check your own stats by typing your own channel name into the search bar.

If you want to use Social Blade to monitor somebody else’s stats, type their channel name instead.

Research Your Competitors Social Media Analytics

By looking up your direct competitors (channels about the same size as yours within your same niche) you’ll be able to see what content is performing best for them.

So, if you’re researching YouTube, you’ll find out which videos get them the most interaction. You can then look at what type of video, content, title, and thumbnail graphic they’re using on their top videos.

Pay particular attention to the thumbnail graphic of successful videos. This image is the first thing to catch the attention of your audience when they’re scanning YouTube’s video content.

Create YouTube Channel Graphics to Improve Your Analytics

So, make a bright, colorful thumbnail for each YouTube video or get some ideas from the top videos in your niche. And, try putting new thumbnail images on old videos that are missing a stunning graphic.

Knowing what is working for your rivals will help you design your own YouTube graphics and content strategy.

You can also use Social Blade to look up YouTube influencers (super successful YouTubers), to see how much money they’re actually making. Take their estimated revenue with a grain of salt, though – it’s just an estimate.

That’s how you can use Social Blade for YouTube – try it now!

How to Make a Top 10 List to Increase Your Traffic

What is a Top 10 List?

People go nuts over top 10 lists… top 10 tools, top 10 blogs, top 10 places to go… you name it. Just list the 10 most important things related to your niche topic. Then use this information in a list format to educate or entertain your readers.

You’ll get more traffic, more clicks, and more engagement by creating your own TOP 10 blog, article, or video.

It’s super easy to do and viewers will pass it around because the content is sooooo easy to read (just scan it!) and share. You can even break down a complicated topic into small chunks, making the article more likely to get read.

How to Create a Top 10 List

First, decide what others need you to share in your niche. Then decide on a headline for your list article.

Some examples of good top 10 list headlines include:
10 Ways to Eat a Pineapple, 10 Design Tools You Need in 2020, or 10 Super Smoothies That’ll Give You More Energy

Keep your list informative but fairly simple. The best thing about list articles is that they are great content because they involve quick, “bite-sized” content. So, don’t ruin your article (or video) by adding unnecessary words.

Write Your Own Top 10 List

So, here’s what you can do today:  Right after you watch the video, create a product comparison guide. After all, your potential customer has SO many products to choose from.

Help them find your product or service in a list of 10 services that are compatible with yours. You don’t need to use direct competitors, but do include resources that your own audience might need.

If you do decide to compare your biz with competitors, be objective and fair, but make sure there is:

1. a noticeable advantage in buying from you,

2. or make it clear that what you offer is a better fit for a specific audience (perhaps your money management program is geared towards young adults as opposed to retirees).

For example, if you walk or train dogs… you can create a Top 10 list of the products needed for training (and then make sure you insert one of your own training products into the list).

Or – you can name the Top 10 websites that your customers may need that enhance your own services (and of course, add your own website onto the list).

Make a Graphic for your Blog, Article, or Video

To entice viewers to read your article, make sure it catches their eye by creating a stunning page header with The Graphics Creator (watch the video above to see how easy it is).

Chances are good that customers will share your Top 10 list.  And, since you’ve snuck in your own product or service as one of the list-items, your product or service is actually getting passed around the great, wide internet!

It’s a creative and valuable way to gain some traffic.

How to Use Your Brand to Promote Yourself

What do you think when you see someone drinking out of a mug with a popular business logo on it? Perhaps your thought is, “I sure wish my business was big enough to do that”, or “How did that company get to be so popular?”

Promote Your Business Image

Newsflash! You don’t have to be “big” or “popular” to start getting more business and make more money. You just need to have a rockin’ logo or brand image that you put in front of everyone’s eyes so that you’re sure to become “big” and “popular”.

Promote Your Business Using Your Brand Logo

What’s the first thing you see in your mind when someone says “McDonald’s”? The Golden Arches “M” logo, of course!

That’s what you’re going for when you create your logo… something simple but that stands out. It needs to be easy to recognize. However, that does not mean boring! If you have a logo you’re planning on keeping but that isn’t very exciting, consider how you might modify it to stand out more.

You can actually bring your logo into The Graphics Creator and try it on different backgrounds or add an outline or shape to it.

If you don’t already have a logo you love, create a brand new one with The Graphics Creator templates (watch the video to see how easy it is!) or even start with a blank canvas and import your own images.

The Best Promotional Items to Give Away

Decide whether you’d like to show off your business with mugs, mousepads, business cards, or stickers. These are the best because they are useful, simple, and inexpensive. It’s just too hard to put your brand image on a pen (and clothing can get expensive).

If you go to Vistaprint, they’ve got a ton of options to choose from that’ll work within your budget.

Have a select number of items printed. Then give them out as prizes, free “with purchase”, free with a special offer attached, or to thank your most valued clients.

How to Advertise Your Business on a T-Shirt

Want a simple and fun way to advertise your company? Have you ever thought about designing t-shirts with your company logo or motto? And did you know that you can actually inspire conversations about your product or service, as well as visually connect with your customers?

Why You Should Promote Your Business on a T-Shirt

If you want to grow your business, bringing awareness to it is ridiculously important. Having a business t-shirt design will act as a billboard… and even better, one that goes places!

And, by getting your t-shirts in the hands of your customers, employees, or fellow conference-goers, you’ll finally be seen and remembered (so you need the perfect design). You can even encourage others to wear your t-shirts in pictures posted on social networking sites.

Take Your Time Designing a Business Shirt

First, take the time to decide what’s right for your business. You might look up funny or inspirational quotes in your niche. And always consider using your logo, brand image, or product as a design on your shirt. Or maybe you can even match your business idea with a recent trend that’ll make your shirt really stand out!

No matter what you decide to do, make sure your design makes it absolutely clear who you are and gives them the motivation to go look you up online.

How to Design a Company T-Shirt

Keep these tips in mind:

  • Don’t just imagine the design on a T-shirt: Make a mockup of the design on a t-shirt model to see what it really looks like
  • The most popular designs are simple (however, you still need to pay attention to details)
  • Consider your market: Who is the exact person you want to attract to your T-shirt design: What are they like (male/female, age, income, ); what other brands do they like, and where would they wear your t-shirt… sorry, wearing it to bed just doesn’t count.
  • If you’re using humor, keep it subtle… what’s funny to one can be offensive to another
  • Choose the right colors: Consider using your brand colors and/or complementary colors
  • Prepare your design properly (watch the video to see how easily you can create the perfect design with The Graphics Creator)
  • Find a good printer: We use VistaPrint and count on them to have a quality T-shirt product.

Make Your T-Shirt Advertising Effective

Finally,  think about how you’re going to share your shirt. Now that you’ve spent the time and money to create a shirt, you want your advertising to increase your brand recognition and sales.

A t-shirt can be a very effective marketing tool because:

  1. It’s a billboard, or “walking advertisement”… and it can go everywhere and anywhere!
  2. You can actually use them as decorations: Hang them on chairs, walls and car windows!
  3. They’re big-time conversation starters: What does that logo mean? Do you work for that company? That’s really cool… where do I get one? How do I become part of the team?
  4. It shows your brand and increases recognition!

Now, get that t-shirt out there! Consider your business goals… then decide:

Will you have a free give-away, hand them out at events, sell them at wholesale price (to get as many out there in the world as you can), let customers qualify by meeting certain criteria, or have a contest?

Get creative!

How to Use Motion Graphics to Grow Your Business

Everyone posts memes and quotes on social media. But, we’d like to share how to stand out in this sea of posts, tweets, snaps, and messages. Use this idea to get more visitors to your website and/or to get them to engage with your company, giving you the opportunity to earn their trust. Here it is…

Use custom motion graphics!

Why Are Motion Graphics Important for Online Business?

Motion graphics communicate visually. When they’re used in a group of static images and words, as is often the case in social media, they catch the viewer’s eye quickly. This brings attention to your content and draws the eye away from your competitor’s content. And, when text is included in your motion graphic, it provides interesting visual information.

How to Use Motion Graphics to Grow Your Business

If you’ve never used motion graphics, it can sound a bit scary. But, we’ll show you what to do to get more customers using motion graphics and grow your business, even if you don’t have any design skills.

In a nutshell, you’ll create a series of social messages and then enhance them with motion graphic backgrounds. And then, you’ll post them regularly to your social media accounts with the help of a free or paid tool.

Here’s how this technique will help you grow your business, using Facebook as an example. When you post regularly to Facebook, their algorithm sees you as an active user and will start showing your posts to more and more people. And the more viewers see and comment on your post, the more Facebook will show your post!

How to Use Motion Graphics to Get Engagement on Social Media

  • Make a week’s worth of motion social graphics (plan on 4-5 per week or more): Watch the video!
  • You can use inspirational quotes from leaders in your niche (use Google to find out who you can quote and what they’ve had to say);  Or, share helpful tips from your own expert knowledge.
  • Set up a tool that’ll share your posts automatically: Take a look at the free options from Hootsuite, Buffer, SocialOomph, or Tweetdeck
  • Schedule all weekly posts (or even schedule them a month in advance)
  • And don’t forget to ask your viewers to take action in some way. Perhaps you could ask them a question like: “So, is this true for you…?”. Or clearly tell them what they need to do next: “Let me know what you think of this message”, or “Click on this link for more help.”
