The 5 Ingredients Your Free Giveaway Needs to Grab Attention

The Creatorpreneurs Academy brings together strategic marketing with eye-catching design so you have the tools and skills to grow your business fast

One of the best ways to get your target audience interested in your product is to give away free stuff. But throwing together a free offer in the hopes of bringing attention to your paid offer won’t be enough to earn the trust you need to get your audience to buy.

So, what can you do to make sure that your giveaway leads your target customer to your paid product? Keep reading to find out the five things you must have in your free offer in order to increase your sales.

Make Sure Your Freebie Includes These Five Things

1. Your freebie should be very valuable

Creating a highly valuable freebie (“lead magnet”) is the number one way to bring interested prospects into your sales funnel. In other words, you “lead” them to your paid offer by giving them something for free that truly helps them solve a problem or quench a desire. And by giving them tremendous value, you earn their trust… now they’re ready and willing to consider how your paid offer can help them.

However, keep in mind that giving away a product doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be worth much. Quite the opposite. You should be giving away products that you could easily sell for $25, $50, or even $200. You want people to get huge value from your free offer so that they’ll know your paid product is worth checking out.

2. Your free offer should be highly relevant

The best way to get your target audience interested in your paid product is to create a freebie that’s strongly related to your paid offer. Why is this important? It’s safe to assume that if they take an interest in your free offer, they’ll also be interested in your paid offer.

Further, You probably did your market research to make sure your paid product is in demand, right? You need to do the same thing with your freebie. Find out what products are in-demand in your niche. Then create something similar to give away.

3. Your freebie should be easy to give away

It should be something your audience really wants. Generally, this means providing a downloadable (digital) product or offering a live event or webinar replay. And, the best thing about your freebie should be that you create it only once and then continue to profit from it.

Examples of good freebies include:

  • Reports
  • Ebooks
  • Videos
  • Audios
  • Webinars
  • Teleseminars
  • Software, apps or other tools
  • Limited access to a membership site
  • Mind maps
  • Worksheets
  • Infographics
  • List of recommended tools

Designing beautiful content is another thing that makes a freebie easy to give away. So, use attention-getting graphics and images in your content so that it stands out gets clicked on.

Need a design tool that’s easy-to-use and create amazing images (even if you don’t have any design skills)? Get this FREE trial of The Graphics Creator 🙂

4. Your free giveaway should point naturally to your paid offer

While your freebie should be valuable, it must also provide only a portion of the solution for your audience. This is super important. While the free offer should be useful all by itself, your audience should easily see that they’ll get the “total solution” if they purchase your paid product.

This can be a bit of a juggling act, but it’s worth spending some time to make sure your free offer gives the people great value yet leaves them with a need for a more in-depth solution to their problem.

5. Design your free offer to grab the attention of your target audience

Finally, a big part of creating a successful free product is by making it visually engaging. Your free offer, whether it’s an ebook, worksheet, etc. should be professional-looking and visually pleasing, just like your website or any advertisement.

So it must stand out and grab attention in order to get clicks. Therefore, designing an eye-catching cover for your free product is a basic requirement of a good giveaway offer.

Watch this video to find out how to create a virtual book or box cover, without Photoshop or any design skills!

More Benefits of Giving Away Something for Free

Because you’ve given a free offer to something highly valuable and desired by your audience, they’ll be happy to pass it around to others on social media or by word-of-mouth. Now it’s getting shared around the web and most likely the world!

Additionally, free offers bring way more traffic to your site. Telling someone that’s never heard of you or your business to visit your website and buy from you is an uphill battle. Yet most people love freebies and are willing to check it out just because it’s free. In turn, more people will learn about the value you have to offer, thus increasing your sales.

How to Design Eye-Catching Ads for Your Target Audience

So you have a product or service to offer and you want to make an advertisement to get it in front of people. But how do you decide what kind of ad to make? What image should you put on your ad? What colors and fonts should you use to really grab attention?

You can design your own eye-catching ads once you know who your target audience is. Follow these four steps to discover who what you need to know about your audience and how to make ad creation easy.

Follow these four steps to create perfect ads for your target audience and improve your sales.

1. Clearly Define Your Customer

You must understand who your customers are in order to create ads specifically for them. The goal here is to find out who is the person who will buy your product without hesitation?

Answer These Questions About Your Target Audience:

  1. How old are they?
  2. Are they male or female?
  3. Do they have children?
  4. Are they married or divorced?
  5. How much money do they make?
  6. How much education do they have?
  7. What’s their occupation?
  8. Where do they live?

You might also benefit by understanding their personal/professional interests and needs. What communities (online and offline) do they hang out in? Is there a common theme with other members in this community? Are they all over age 40 and divorced? All parents with teen children?

Finally, create an “avatar” of that customer (an image of this person in your mind or on paper). You can actually create a visual and stick it on the wall so that this person is easy to keep in mind.

2. Identify Their Problem

Now that you’ve identified who your customer is, what kind of problem do they have that you can solve? If you have identified your customer correctly, these people will be happy to “pay” you to solve their problems.

Therefore, your success with advertising depends on correctly identifying their problem, frustration, or pain. But no worries, you can do this by answering these questions:

  • What are their specific problems, frustrations, or pains? Be specific.
  • Can my product or service solve these problems?
  • What are one or two reasons this customer would “object” to purchasing my product or service (even though it will solve their problem)?
  • How will I overcome these objections? What will I tell them or show them that’ll squash those objections?

Here’s a Laughingbird Software example of an audience objection:

A common objection to using Laughingbird Software’s Graphics Creator is… “I don’t know anything about design, so I can’t create my own graphics!”

In response to the objection above about not having any design experience, I’d say… “You can create professional-looking graphics for ads, social media, etc., WITHOUT any design experience with our ready-made templates and easy drag and drop images”.

The 4 steps to creating ads for your target audience

3. What Message Do You Want to Give Your Customer?

Now that you know who your target audience is, it’s time to be clear about who you are and what you have to offer. Although you’ll do this with the eye-catching design you’re going to create, you’ll also grab their attention with your words.

To help you decide what to say, try this exercise. State EXACTLY what you offer, who you will help, and what problem you’re product or service will solve. Fill in the blank (remember this from your school days?):

I help ___________________ do/achieve/get/learn _______________ so they can _______________ without _________________.

Here’s my own example: I help small, online business owners create their own graphics so they can quickly market their product or service without spending a lot of money or waiting for someone else to do it.

And, here are a couple more:

I help middle-aged, professional women, get rid of age spots so that they can look great and feel confident without waiting months for a creme to work or getting laser surgery.

I help online solopreneurs create an effective business plan so they can easily grow their business without feeling overwhelmed and financially drained.

Got it?! Now, translate your “me” statement into a “you” statement.

My example:

Small, online business owners… create your own graphics so you can quickly market your product or service without spending a lot of money or waiting for someone else to do it.

That’s it! Your audience has been targeted and you’ve got the information you need to design your ad.

4. Create an Eye-Catching Ad for Your Customers

Now that you know who your customers are, understand their problems, and are ready with your offer, create an ad with a message just for them!

Make Money Online as an Affiliate for Laughingbird Software

The Creatorpreneurs Academy brings together strategic marketing with eye-catching design so you have the tools and skills to grow your business fast.

Although there are many products to choose from as an affiliate reseller, there’s a huge difference between the quality of each product, the offer, and the commission rate.

Therefore, making money online as an affiliate needs a strategy. Take a look at the four ways that Laughingbird Software makes it easy and profitable to sell The Graphics Creator software.

1. A Product That’s Easy to Sell

To become a successful affiliate reseller takes more than just signing up for a hundred different products. Here are three important things to consider when deciding on an affiliate product to sell:

  • Choose an “evergreen’ product that you can sell year-round.
  • Find a product that has great tools to assist you in selling: Banners, product images, and product video tutorials, for example.
  • Choose a product that has a competitive commission rate: Earning 10% on one $20 product will earn you pennies as compared to earning 40-50% on several $37 products at a time.

Laughingbird Software’s shop allows your customer to add multiple products to a shopping cart each time they make a purchase.

Laughingbird Software’s Affiliate Program checks all of the boxes above, therefore making it easy to make money online. Take a look!

2. A “Private” Affiliate Program

The problem with selling products offered through a big affiliate company is that there are tens of thousands of people selling the same product.

Unfortunately, that means that the market to sell the product is saturated and the product is being sold everywhere. This is especially true if the product was recently launched by a company with the help of thousands of affiliates.

So for starters, you should know that Laughingbird Software has our own “private” affiliate program. What that means is this: We offer affiliate status to our customers through our independently created reseller program… not through a big affiliate company.

3. Get More Sales by Giving Away a Free Trial Version of The Graphics Creator Software

First, your audience gets a glimpse of the value they’ll get if they buy from you. In turn, you’ll earn their trust and respect. Then they’ll feel confident that your product can really help them solve their problem.

Laughingbird Software lets you give away a free trial version of The Graphics Creator. By trying out the software, your audience will know exactly what they’re getting. And, more importantly, they’ll understand how they can create attention-getting graphics that’ll help them grow their own business.

How to create your own tshirt designs that sell (2020)

The Creatorpreneurs Academy brings together strategic marketing with eye-catching design so you have the tools and skills to grow your business fast.

Hey Creatorpreneurs! If you need another stream of income or want to promote your own business in a fun and unique way, then designing and selling t-shirts is for you.

As an online entrepreneur, you already know the value of having a virtual presence… on social media, a website, a blog, etc. But that doesn’t mean you can’t grow your business by mixing in some offline strategies.

Yes, You Can Earn Money by Selling T-shirts

Understandably, you don’t want to waste your time on another project that doesn’t lead to increased sales. But selling t-shirts, or other “on-demand” goods is easier than you think and requires little to no investment. If you want to order your own t-shirt for promotional purposes, such as to take pictures of it or wear it, then you will have to buy it. Otherwise, you can start for nothing!

Here’s how it works: You choose the sales price and keep 100% of the profit. For example, the base price for a t-shirt is $10 and you choose to sell it for $20, you would keep $10 in profit.

Basically, if you sell 10 t-shirts per week, you’ll make $100 (that’s an extra $400 per month!). Keep in mind also that you only have to make the design once, so little of your time is required once your design is set. And, as mentioned before, you don’t have to spend any money upfront. So, you really do keep all of the profit.

How to Design a T-shirt

This is the fun part! You can get as creative as you’d like while designing your t-shirt. First, make sure you’ve watched the video to learn how to create your t-shirt designs.

If you don’t already have The Graphics Creator software, just get it online and log into your account to start creating.

Further, if you’d like help with ideas or feedback on your design, join the Laughingbird Software Creatorpreneurs community.

Now, read below to find out how to sell your awesome new t-shirt designs.

How to Sell Your T-shirt

What makes selling t-shirts online so easy is that some businesses will produce your product on-demand. This means that you don’t have to buy inventory upfront before you even make any sales!

Further, buyers come to these well-known companies looking for cool or funny t-shirts. So, you don’t have to rely exclusively on your own marketing. There’s already a customer base.

If you watched the video, you saw Marc showing you how to create and download your design from The Graphics Creator and upload it into Teespring to sell your t-shirt. This is the easiest way to make any graphic design into a sellable t-shirt or other printed product.

How to Print Your T-shirt Design

Take a look at how Teespring will print your t-shirt on-demand. As an entrepreneur, you have enough to do without worrying about orders and shipping.

Thankfully, Teespring produces your t-shirts after an order is placed. You simply create your design and upload it. When you get a sale, Teespring handles order production, shipping, and customer support for you. Super simple!

Next, check out their Getting Started video and guide.

Website to help you sell t-shirts online

Here’s one more super cool thing worth mentioning. Teespring is great because it gives you a way to actually sell your products directly from Instagram, YouTube, and Twitch.

So there you have it entrepreneurs… one more way to earn money each month. Creating and selling t-shirt designs is passive income once you’ve created the design. In other words, you can sell your design over and over without much effort at all.

So why limit yourself to selling one design when you can create 10 or 20?! Some of Laughingbird Software’s Creatorpreneurs even make a full-time business out of selling on-demand t-shirts and other products using The Graphics Creator to make their designs.

Drive Traffic with a 4-Step Social Media Marketing Plan

The Creatorpreneurs Academy brings together strategic marketing with eye-catching design so you have the tools and skills to grow your business fast.

Social media marketing is an ongoing process and can be rather time-consuming if you don’t manage it. However, having a consistent plan can can make it easier as well as increase traffic to your website, getting you bigger results, faster.

This article in our Creatorpreneurs Academy series will help bring you traffic from any social media platform by completing 4 defined steps.

The 4 Steps to Get More Traffic with Social Media

1. Plan Your Social Post Content

The idea here is to create content for your target audience. Your focus should be on showing your audience what they need to solve their biggest problem in your niche.

First, consider how often you will post great content on one or more of your social accounts… Twice a week? Daily?

Then create a list of topics that address your audience’s troubles and the solution you can offer. Ask yourself if what you’d like to offer will be something they’ll want to share with others. After all, getting others to share can be the biggest driver of traffic to your site!

To stay on track and provide consistent content, use a simple calendar that reminds you what content you intend to provide on each post, what social platform you plan to share it on, and how often you will share.

2. Create a Brand Story.

Now that you have your content ideas, make a brief “story” out of each one. This is your chance to tell people what your brand is all about… how you understand their problem and how you can help them with it.

Consider making your story into a quick How-To lesson, product demonstration, or story about how your offer helped a customer in real life. Just keep in mind that, because this content is for your social media posts, you need to brief but compelling.

Therefore, give your audience a “teaser” of what they’ll get if they click on your social link. For example, if you are offering a “how-to” article, you might tell about how one customer followed your steps and got double the traffic to their site. Then ask them to click a link to find out how they can do this too (see step #4 below on using a “Call-to-Action”).

Laughingbird Software Brand Design for Facebook Marketing example

3. Add Eye-Catching Visuals.

As is true anywhere on the internet, striking visuals in your social media posts will capture and hold your audience’s attention. Please, please, please don’t get tempted to add a simple colored Facebook background to your post, or worse, to leave out an image altogether!

Just as when you’re telling your “story” above, stunning, unique visuals tell them that they can trust you and that you’re capable of helping them. Besides, you won’t even get noticed if you don’t use graphics and images that catch the eye.

The truth is, the few minutes you spend creating a graphic will be worth it. And, yes, you can create an image in just a few minutes with the right tool.

Simply put, it’ll bring more traffic to your website. This is for two reasons: First, people are much more likely to click on an image than to hunt for a link in the text. And second, you’ll look more appealing, trustworthy, and professional.

How to Use Graphics to Drive Social Media Traffic

The number one most important piece of a perfect social post is your image. If your post doesn’t quickly capture attention, you’ll get very few views, if any.

Words are competing for attention everywhere. And even if you’ve written an amazing story and offer, they may never be seen without first capturing your audience’s attention with a stunning graphic.

Watch this video to learn more about creating eye-catching social media graphics:

4. Include a Clear Social Call-to-Action.

A “call-to-action” (CTA) tells viewers exactly what you want them to do next. On social media, this is just as important as in a blog article, video, or on a web page. You want your planned post to share a story, have a big attention-getting graphic, and then tell them exactly what to do with that information.

In most social posts, you will tell them to: “Subscribe”, “Learn More” “Find out How To…”, “Share”, and perhaps even “Get The Offer”.

Before writing your CTA, have a clear idea of what action you want a potential customer to do. And, decide whether you will direct them to your website, blog, video, podcast, or sales page?

Be Consistent with Your Social Media Marketing Plan

In order to get more traffic, you must consider this a somewhat long-term plan. Posting a few times on any social media rarely doubles your traffic instantly. However, staying on course by consistently following these four steps with each piece of social media content will bring you more traffic.

How To Sell More With Facebook: Niche Marketing Strategy

Why a Niche is Important in Business

Your business “niche” refers to having to a small, specialized group of people that your business provides value for.

For instance, instead of considering just “dog owners” as your niche, you could focus on “first-time dog owners who work outside the home”. This greatly narrows your niche and lets you focus on who you are talking to and what their needs are.

In this case, because they work away from home and are unsure of how to raise a dog, they need help on what products to buy for their puppy while they’re away all day. If you sell automatic feeders and water bowls, entertaining toys, and weather-proof dog beds, then you’ll be selling to your niche! Having a focused niche helps you give these people exactly what they need.

Think of it like this… if you try to sell to everyone (such as “all dog owners”), then your message won’t be targeted towards a small group who truly value what you offer (in this example… dog owners who’re worried about their treasured pet while they are away at work).

Use Facebook Groups as Your #1 Niche Marketing Strategy

This might be a surprise to you, but one of the easiest ways to find your niche online is through Facebook groups. Facebook group “research” can actually help you learn more about and connect with your target audience.

Facebook groups are a place that your audience hangs out. Groups can be focused on a specific brand, organization, club, or interests.

Typically, you need to ask to join a closed group. This is because many groups are hoping to find members that fit in their own online business niche and who would be interested in their product. These groups offer discussions, surveys, informative articles, etc., all based on the group’s topic.

Finding niche-specific Facebook groups that are based on the same niche as your business can be helpful in several ways: They can help you keep on top of what’s happening within your industry, give you ideas for new products or services, and give you access to a pool of people who would likely be interested in what you have to offer.

Follow Your Target Audience in Facebook Groups

The easiest way of finding groups in your niche is to look at what groups your target audience belongs to. Follow these ideas for a strategy that’s easy to do (although it does require time and effort):

Start by using Facebook’s search field:

Type in keywords for your own niche. Or search using the categories. Who are your people? What are their interests? Join those groups!

Take note of who the influencers and leaders are in your niche:

Join their groups and get to know their audience. Pay attention to the value they have to offer!

This is hugely beneficial to you because those influencers will have already gathered an audience in the same niche. Many have hundreds if not thousands of people in their group already. Let’s be real… a list like that would probably take you many months or much longer to build.

Get to know the people in each group:

Once you’re a member of the group, you can get to know much more about the people in your niche. Get to know their interests, fears, problems, and desires. You should post simple questions or games to engage the members and find out more about them.

Take notes on what you learn:

Save their questions and notes about their struggles, as well as the specific words they use to describe their problems. This will help you provide as much value as possible to this group of people. After all, you’ll understand what they need just by spending time with them.

No spamming the group:

Just remember to be respectful and encouraging in each group. Make sure to follow each group’s rules and Facebook best practices. Absolutely no spamming or messaging members with your own links and products. 🙂

Share this pin with your target audience on Pinterest so they can learn this niche marketing strategy 🙂

How to Grow Your Business With Targeted Visuals

Now that you’ve observed and interacted with your Facebook groups and have all the value you can possibly get packed into your product or service, it’s time to share your offer with your audience.

To do this, you’ll need to create advertisements and social media content that targets your niche audience specifically.

First, visually entice your audience:

Use The Graphics Creator to make stunning graphics that appeal to your niche audience.

Choose colors and background images that’ll get their attention. For example, if your niche is people who live alone and are dog owners, you’re not going to place a dark, lonely forest as the background. Instead, you’ll use an image of a happy person hugging a cute little doggie while the sun is shining.

And, if you’re selling collars and cute clothes for their favorite companion, you want to appeal to how happy a dog can make a lonely person feel and how enjoyable it can be for that person to dress their pup up.

Grab The Graphics Creator if you don’t have it yet. Try it out here for free (includes images with watermarks that can be removed 🙂

The Graphics Creator 8- Try for FREE!

Second, appeal to your audience by using language they understand and have an emotional connection to:
